1This Code is based on principles embodied in the Constitution of the Republic of Albania, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, other international acts ratified by the Republic of Albania and universally recognized principles regarding criminal justice for children.
2The provisions of this Code may not be construed or applied in ways limiting the guarantees and Minimum Standard Rules related to criminal justice for children and the explicit rights in international acts ratified by the Republic of Albania, European Union Acquis and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
