Article 187: Opinions on legislation

1The High Prosecutorial Council shall be responsible for expressing opinions and making propositions regarding amendments to the legislation that may affect the work of the prosecution service and any other matter that is within the responsibility of the Council.

2In particular, the Council shall perform the following duties:

aexamine the application of rules of criminal judicial proceedings;

bmake recommendations for changing rules of criminal judicial proceedings;

cgive a response to requests made by ministers to give an opinion on a draft law or any other matter that may affect the prosecution and justice system in general;

çmay give opinions on a draft law or any other matter that may affect the prosecution and justice system in general, submitting it to a minister or any other body.

3The Council shall propose to the Minister of Justice to launch the initiative for legislative changes with respect to any matter that is under its responsibility.
