1Unless otherwise provided by law, the mandate of the chairperson shall be three years with the right to re-election only once.
2The mandate of a chairperson shall end immediately upon the expiry of the period for which he/she has been appointed.
3Additionally, the mandate of the chairperson ends:
aupon the ending of his status as magistrate, based on the reasons listed in Article 64 of this Law;
bupon applying for the position of the member of the Council.
4The end of the mandate is declared by decision of the respective Council.
5At the end of the mandate as chairperson, he/she shall be entitled to continue to assume the function as magistrate at the respective court or prosecution office.
