Article 88: Fair and speedy trial

1The trial involving a child in conflict with the law shall be conducted considering respect for the principle provided for in Article 17 of this Code on the examination without delay and with priority.

2The case of a child in conflict with the law shall be sent to court not later than 3 months from the recording of the name in the register, except for the cases when during such period the child is accused of another criminal offence or in cases of criminal offences tried by the Court Against Corruption and Organised Crime. The time limits foreseen in the Code of Criminal Procedure shall apply to these cases.

3The Court of First Instance shall conclude the examination of the case within the shortest possible time period but not later than 6 months from the date of depositing of the documents with the Court.

4The Court of Appeal shall conclude the review of the case within the shortest possible time period but not later than 2 months from the date of depositing of the documents with the Court.

5The High Court shall examine admissibility of recourse and try the case as quickly as possible.
